The Daily Record on Saturday had quoted Wallace as saying he was going to "wield the axe" before this game. Funny then, that the only change was that Bruce was in for Currie, who had played the last game with strapping on his right leg.
The game started in blizzard conditions. We couldn't see the visiting support for the snow. It was definitely one of those days when you yearned for summer football. Unfortunately, despite desperate praying to higher powers, the snow eased up and the game went on.
Dumbarton got humped. That's all there is to it. We were crap. Alloa, although far from brilliant, were the better team.
We kept giving possession away for no reason. Wilson had another nightmare for most of the game and we just did not create enough chances. Even when we did create chances they were spurned occasionally in bizarre circumstances. I still can't believe that Flannery side-footed the ball over the bar from just outside the six yard box. But he did. Flannery along with Wilson are now starting to become and figures of hate amost the Sons support.
To show how poor Dumbarton were, the Alloa keeper finished the game with a clean jersey despite the fact that the pitch was a like quagmire. Needless-to-say Kenny Meechan's jersey was absolutely bogging.
Wallace must go. Sack the board.
