This was the proverbial game of two halves. At half time, the Sons were cheered off the park after playing some superb flowing football and being 2-0 up. At full time, the cheers had turned to boos.
What let us down was the poor finishing. Glancy put a header over the bar when he was inside the six yard box. Shuggie put a couple wide after some mesmerising runs and Lee Sharpe must have thought he was playing rugby going by the way every shot went sailing over the bar. It wouldn't have been that bad if we hadn't let Montrose score with what basically were their only two serious attacks in the game.
And then to add to the Sons' fans dispair, Shuggie got himself his second yellow for a silly studs-on-knee-type tackle. But, to use another well worn cliche, it's early doors.
